A little about Shelby

I was born in Oklahoma, and grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri with an Associate Arts degree, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from U.N.M. I was a social worker with the State of New Mexico for several years, prior to moving to Fort Collins in 1974. My husband Dick is also an accomplished Realtor. We had our own office for 5 years, before joining Prudential in 1991. Dick now works as my assistant. I do most of the showings and all contract preparation, but Dick is always available to help. Our knowledge of real estate in the area is unsurpassed. Real estate is just a way of life for us. We work out of our fully equipped satellite home office. We feel very fortunate to live in this area. The four-season climate is ideal for us, the scenery is lovely and the people are very friendly! Any free time we have is spent taking care our small acreage in northwest Fort Collins. I love landscaping and growing flowers, and Dick enjoys working with trees. I also enjoy baking and cooking. We love feeding birds and squirrels, and watching the wildlife we are very fortunate to have nearby. We see an occasional bear and mountain lion, which keeps life interesting. In addition to our outdoor critters, we have a wonderful parakeet named Shadow. He is a bundle of cheer, playing and singing from dawn to dusk. We also have an kitty named Missy who hangs out in Dick's shop (and away from the bird). We also take care of a stray outdoor cat we call Boots. She comes and goes on her own schedule.
